A daily digest of recent research in psychotherapy. Each item states what was studied, what was found, and what the authors themselves hold back.
Open to the whole world. Research in psychotherapy is overwhelmingly produced in a handful of wealthy countries and tested on a narrow slice of humanity. This digest names that limit whenever it applies, and devotes a standing section to work that widens access to psychological care where specialists are scarce.
Twenty-one randomised trials or meta-analyses in psychotherapy entered PubMed since 28 July. Three of the four studies retained here evaluate acceptance- or mindfulness-based interventions, and all three conclude favourably — yet the broadest meta-analysis of the four rates its own certainty of evidence as low to very low. The Without Borders section recalls where the figures are, by contrast, solid.
