Developed by William Miller and Stephen Rollnick, motivational enhancement therapy helps the person find within themselves the motivation to change. Grounded in empathy, the development of discrepancy, and rolling with resistance rather than confrontation, it is primarily indicated for addictions to alcohol and drugs and for eating disorders.
